Working VeChain NFC chip
Ok so here we go guys. A VeChain NFC chip up close. This is an official – working – VeChain product label with an NFC chip. I have seen it working with the app on a smartphone and it provides clear information to the user – what the product is about from the production stage all the way down to the end user. Just activate your app, hold your phone close to the label and BAM! There is your information. Works like a charm.
Two kinds of VeChain NFC chips
This is the large variant of the chip. There is also a smaller variant about 1 to 1,5 inch wide in a circular form and only with the blue V logo printed on them. On the back they had a similar NFC Chip, just like this one.
It looked something like this, only smaller of course.
Now some real pictures of the VeChain NFC label
Please note that these are for testing purposes only, so not sure if the actual product will look like this one.

VeChain NFC labels are tamper proof
The labels are tamper proof in such a way that you can stick it once, but it will be impossible to get them off in one piece. I gave it a try and trust me, the chip will break no matter what. Still it is strong enough as long as you don’t mess it with in a silly way. It is just designed to stick, stay intact as long as you don’t try to take it off.
It is happening guys. it is happening. If you have any questions about the label, just hit the comments. I’ll try to add / update the page where I can.
Please feel free to donate some VeChain love!

Update: Someone pointed out that there is a video which shows the chip at work. See video below:
Update 2: Another, new video showed up. Different chip but same idea. Now with a hybrid NFC/RFID chip. See the tweet + video below:
Here’s some context relating to my previously uploaded video demonstrating a real-world implementation of #blockchain #iot #nfc #rfid technology with @vechainofficial technology for @SharkCIA (thread) and a new video showing the chip being scanned pic.twitter.com/PNEzCoHOhe

Looking forward to see what’s coming next from VeChain.
You could recover the chip by dissolving the glue in acetone
But how would you do that if it is already attached to something like let’s say… a bottle of wine?
See this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtAqj0-OmYc
very easily with a syringe full of acetone. ive done it many times before. just go to youtube and search.
I bet I could remove it with applying heat and other methods to keep the chip intact..
Se puede destruir, lo que no se puede hacer es manipular
Es perfecto, bien por vechain
But how will you benefit from that? Two examples:
–> If you scan this in a store in China and it says it has been sold at a store in Europe 2 months earlier you would know enough, no?
–> if the code/chip is taken from a stolen item, you can put it on the fake one (but then the original one loses its proof of authenticity so you achieved nothing). The only scenario in which it works is if you steal only the chip from an unsold item.
You can mess with these chips as much as you want, but one way or another the value of the original product will cost you, which means counterfeit would not benefit you the criminal.
That’s the beauty of it.
